URA trains Kyambogo University students in various sectors
Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) embarked on a project to train Ugandans on how to pay taxes in a move to increase revenue collected for national development.
The Authority has started training students in higher institutions of learning especially universities.
Kyambogo university is among the institutions that have benefited in the project.
Students are trained on how to apply for Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).
A TIN is a unique ten-digit identifying number allocated by the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
To prospective Taxpayers to enable them to meet their tax obligations.
It is a legal requirement and it applies to all taxpayers regardless of their tax transactions.
“We trained Kyambogo University students on; TIN application, return filing, payment registration etc..,’ says URA official.
“These and many others, will become our ambassadors in communities around and beyond the university.” The official said.
URA send an Auto notification of the receipt of ones application upon submission.
