Mpigi district Parish Development Model steering committee organized a special PDM internalization training for government workers at the district headquarters aiming at better implementation of the program in the district.

The steering committee led by the district Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Mr. Moses Kanyarutokye, Production Officer Mr Sserwadda James Patrick, and Commercial Officer Mr Kazibwe Ronald led the training breaking down key aspects of the Parish Development Model (PDM) to government workers from all sub Counties.

Mr. Kanyarutokye asked all sub-county Chiefs, and sub County community development officers to be change agents of the PDM program in the district.

“We are looking for change agents for this program. The success of the program will largely depend on civil works, the parish chiefs, and extension workers who are responsible for implementing the Model,” says CAO Kanyarutokye.

“We have organised this special training after reviewing the progress of the PDM program in the district, and it’s aim is to help civil workers and all extension workers master the implementation of the PDM program,” he added.

The district production officer Mr Sserwadda James Patrick told Whisper Eye News that the intention of this training is to see that all government workers master the PDM program before kick-starting parish trainings.

“We have equipped our staff with enough information about the Parish Development Model, and we expect good results at the parish level where most of the work is to take place for the success of the model in the district,” says Mr Sserwadda.

The Parish Development Model is the recent program enrolled by the government to alleviate poverty through supporting local people under the third pillar of financial inclusion.

Pillar 3: Financial Inclusion;
